What an incredible experience performing in the Phoenix Theatre Company’s 24-Hour Theatre Project as a part of their Festival of New American Theatre! We had a chance to premier the hilarious new work “Stuck” written by Chelsea Anderson between the hours of 6 PM and 6 AM, got scripts in our hands at 9 AM, rehearsed all day under the brilliant direction of Delores Mendoza, and premiered the work at 6 PM last night alongside three other new pieces.
This project PUSHES YOU as an actor, but watching everything come together in such a short period of time was so SO rewarding, and I think I might be crazy enough to say I would do it all over again if given the chance.
Thank you to my scene partners Navaris and Brandon for being such class-act professionals to work with and for making the performance so much fun! Thank you Delores for your vision and direction of the piece; I can truly say that I will NEVER forget my blocking for this show (if you know, you know 😂) but in all seriousness, you were such a joy to work with & I hope it won’t be the last time we work together. And finally Chelsea, thank you so much for giving us such a fantastic story to perform for everyone. I had no idea what to expect when I got the script yesterday but you exceeded ALL of my expectations and provided us with such a funny, heart felt, well-rounded, though provoking script, it was truly an honor to get to bring one of your characters to life.
There are still two more weeks of the festival so be sure to go support all of the new works being premiered!
